Literature Text

December 22nd 3020.

A regular home in a city, where a normal family is happily living within. It's night time and the children are in bed, parents up late watching TV shows and spending time on their own.
Eventually one of their children walks in to where they have been peacefully laid back watching the TV. "Mum, dad?" The child asks, as the mother slowly wakes up to look at their child who is tired, and weary. "What's wrong honey?" The mother asks as the child slowly approaches them.
"I had a nightmare."
"Aw baby." The mother pouts and offers a hug for their weeping child as he breaks into the offer, cuddling up to his mother as she sits down with him. The father asleep beside them from having a long day, exhausted from work.
"What was your nightmare about?" The mother added as the child begins to think.
"I was in a house, and someone was chasing me."
"Really, who?" The mother tilts her head curiously to see if he knew.
"I don't know... It was a monster, I think." The child looks down to his feet, as the mother holds him closer.
"Aww, Mikey. You do know there's no such thing as monsters any more."
"Why?" The child gently sobs from fear as he remembers the nightmare, his mother still giving him comfort.
"Because there's a man. Who stops monsters from hurting people, like you." She bumps her muzzle gently against her child's as he giggles softly, and relaxes against her.
"Is he Zealot?" The child asks as the mother grins lightly.
"Ah you remembered my story."
"I liked it." The child smiles thinking. "Can you tell me the story again?" He adds while looking up at his mother.
She smiles happily, nodding. "Of course."
My small desire is to know that Dexter's purpose, has come to a real good use. I liked the fact that when Dexter turns to legend, he can be used as little bedtime stories to help children avoid nightmares... And it doesn't just have to be children.
